Unfortunately, we are currently facing a crisis. As an all-volunteer-run organization, we depend on donations and the support of our community. So far in 2025, we have rescued our biggest number of animals (over 800!), but had the least amount of donations since our inception. At the same time, government funding has been pushed and other annual grants sunsetted. 

Additionally, new regulations from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife have had a dramatic impact on our operations. In order to conform to the new requirements, we will have to build new enclosures, at a cost of over $2,000 per cage.

We know times are tough across the board, but with Giving Tuesday fast approaching, we hope that we can count on you. Our #GivingTuesday stretch goal is $25,000, which will enable us to:

• Replace the cages that are out of compliance
• Buy food and supplies for the animals
• Cover operational costs into 2026
